Outline: The Kitanagase Community Fridge provides free food, produce and household goods to low-income families which are affected by coronavirus. Registered user can take the necessary things out of the fridge anytime, also they don't need to care about public attention. The Kitanagase Community Fridge is a way to jointly solve the poverty problem and food waste problem from a Shopping Center.

Evaluation

This community fridge is highly evaluated for its consideration in design and detailed care in its management system such as using a warehouse directly connected to a multi-story parking to allow people to receive support at any time without worrying about others' eyes, introducing of an unmanned system with ICT to reduce staff burden, and making the support package in small size to ensure equality and to prevent food loss at the same time. Another good point was that although this project was launched less than one year ago (at the time of the screening), it has started to package and transfer its know-how. We expect that this project itself will expand nationwide, and that, by raising awareness, the scope of potential donors will also expand so that it will receive donations from remote areas.
