The Gamoyon project is started from the renovation of an old rice storehouse. To date, more than 30 vacant houses have been remodeled into restaurants and shops, and the project has been expanded to the renovation of the entire surrounding area. It connects vacant house owners and people who want to open a restaurant or store, and supports them by providing advice for suitable design and construction according to their budget. The project not only holds consultations about hardware, but also operates a community where restaurant or shop owners gather, exchange opinions, and hold a common event so that they can support each other, through which it has established a mechanism to enhance the charm of the whole area. We think it is really wonderful. Furthermore, as a new initiative, it has found a framework in which vacant lots after houses are demolished are revitalized as small-scale farms and rented to local residents. In this way, the vacant lots also create value for the area. This is a very good example of area renovation.
