Sign System [Covid-19 Vaccination Wayfinding System]

Outline: When a space is built in a short amount of time, such as a vaccination center, the signage system is often inadequate, making it difficult for users to navigate the space. To address this problem, the Vaccination Wayfinding System proposes a design that simultaneously presents information about the space and the vaccination process, while guiding users through the space efficiently and safely.

Evaluation

To satisfy the social demand for mass vaccination, this signage system effectively guiding people is created in collaboration with a community and a university by way of design simultaneously indicating the information of the vaccination space and process. The COVID-19 pandemic that changed our everyday life made us aware of the vulnerability of emergency preparedness. I wonder how difficult it was to build a system to vaccinate as many people as possible under the special circumstances of large-scale vaccination. I actually experienced this signage system at the vaccination site and learned of the power of design that can contribute to society, especially when people are in need. I would like to give my sincere respect to the staff of the project for their efforts to have quickly created such a design system that reduces the physical and mental burden of medical staff and venue operators as well as vaccinated people.
