Outline: Bitescan is a over-ear mastication meter that measure chewing times, rate and posture, etc. In modern life, people tend to chew less. The aim of this project is to help build better chewing habits by measuring and making awareness of chewing, with bitescan app and events support.

Evaluation

As children, we were taught to chew each mouthful of food a few dozen times. However, there is, in fact, apparently no scientific evidence to back up that advice. This initiative is part of a research project to ascertain what kind of problems modern people might experience in the future as a result of the decrease in the number of times we chew each mouthful. We feel that it is deserving of praise, as an initiative with a great deal of promise for the future. This product and app use the gamification approach to visualize the number of times each mouthful is chewed and we even felt that, from the consumer perspective, they could be the savior of families bringing up children.
