Evaluation

It is extremely important for us to be able to use things in the same manner even when the water is shut down or natural disaster strikes. In disaster-affected areas, the biggest concern would be shelter, food, drink and toilets. There are more and more measures taken to secure shelter and food/drink, however, the issue with the lack of clean toilets could lead to poor sanitary conditions, which in turn could contribute to critical issues such as health problems and psychological stress. This disaster-resilient toilet presents a wonderful concept as the toilets ordinarily used at municipalities and schools turn into low-flush toilets available to the public in the event of disrupted water supply. Although they may not be fully operational depending on the seriousness of the disaster, just the effort to increase the availability of toilets is commendable. It is also noteworthy that the company carries out activities to the public such as seminars to know, use and get used to disaster-ready toilets, education for disaster prevention. Apparently, it has received requests to develop this type of toilet for home use, which is no surprise. The reliability of this product offers a sense of security in case of an emergency.
