Outline

Eiko Gakuen is a boys' high school located on a green hill in Kamakura. While it is renowned for its educational achievement, the students are very active in sports in huge campus. The old 3-storey school building of reinforced concrete was reborn as 2-storey building composite of timber and concrete, which is closer and more open to the ground, generating more activities in and out. Adopting advanced method using market-available-size timber for both structure and finish, bright space with open atmosphere and warm touch was created in the new building blending into the rich environment.
