The 1st Clavinova has released in 1985 as an instrument that would bring the acoustic piano into the digital realm and become a new standard for pianos that allowed people of all levels of musical experience to enjoy playing. With a truly piano-like appearance, the Clavinova represented a proposal for a simple, casual construction, featuring a horizontal body supported by three legs (also a pedal section with two legs, for a total of four supports), a format that emerged as a result of our investigation into the kind of form that would blend well with the furnishings of the average home.
