Outline

The idea of 'Mali' was inspired by the shape, smooth in curve, and the beautiful nature of Jasmine flower (Mali - in thai). The basic unpatterned shape from a hard-to-find spece of Jasmine's leaf and flower, Mali-Phuluang (J. decipiens), has been used to derive the basic flavor of our "Mali". The smooth in curve, unpatterned slot, and the warm color of solid wood always represented the translation of the basic nature charming of Mali-Phuluang.

Evaluation

Inspired by jasmine, or "Mali" in Thai, these pieces of furniture were developed for outdoor use. It seems to be a standard design at a glance, but once one looks into the details - slight arches of the seat and back of the chair, or nuanced angle of legs of the table and chair - you will find fluctuation bonded with the nature. The furniture set enlightens those who see the potentials of outdoor furniture design, a field mistakenly believed to has already been fully explored.
