Ricoh has been a pioneer in the area of recycling products recovered from the market, and now it has made use of the latest recycling technology developed through this history and its strict quality inspections to produce multifunction digital devices that are both environmentally friendly and refurbished to function as well as new devices. * The level of CO2 emissions in the manufacturing process has been reduced approximately 95% from the level involved in manufacturing conventional devices. * Thanks to careful selection of reusable components, refurbishing, and inspection, the company has achieved 88% reuse (by mass) of parts. * Part of the power used during print queuing is stored in the capacitor to allow high-speed startups in 30 seconds. * Reduced power consumption has led to an efficient level of energy consumption at 57 Wh/h. * The company uses no cardboard and has adopted “Eco packaging,” which greatly reduces use of packing materials. * It has also greatly reduced the use of environmentally harmful substances.
