Outline

The building was deteriorating rapidly. The roof leaked, there was no insulation, and although it was a single-story structure the tiled roof was unstable. In spite of all this, the owner chose to renovate rather than rebuild. We started with a "soft" renovation, rearranging the floor plan to allow in more light and to make better use of natural breezes for air circulation. On the 'hard' renovation side, we reinforced the foundation, pillars, beams, and braces, and we also installed insulation. In the end the project was a small-scale reconstruction that hopefully opened the way to future possibilities.
